July 24th and all that followed

This week was filled with many events, and some very exciting family get togethers.

Our 24th was pretty good.  We didn't really have plans with any family, so we decided to spend it at home.  We did some much needed deep cleaning.   I keep our house pretty clean during the week, but never get down and dirty, behind appliances and cupboards.   It was great to have a day with Daniel.  We tried to rearrange our living room, when you live in an apartment there's just not a lot of ways to put your furniture.  So it ended up back how it started, darn.  We ate salads and some fun appetizers for dinner, and ended our evening snuggled up on the couch with a movie.

We also went to the temple this week,  little did we know that we were going to be apart of a sign language session.  It was an interesting experience to be apart of.   It definitely made me grateful for the ability I have to hear.  There was also a gentleman there that was blind and deaf so I was grateful for both of those senses.  I had this adorable old lady next to me that I had the privilege of helping out when she needed it.   You could tell she was struggling at times and it was a touching moment to be needed in such a way.   When we got to the end of the session I asked her name and was able to talk to her for a few minutes.  You know those moments where you just feel like you were in the right place at right time, well that was one of those moments.   I also had put a pin with my temple clothes a few months prior and was able to adjust some of her clothing with it.   Sometimes its hard to find the time to go to the temple but its experiences like that, that make me aware of the reasons why.  Not only are we doing temple work for those who have passed without having the privilege but there's also so many people who need your example at the temple.

On Friday we had the wonderful opportunity to go to court.  Under good circumstances thank goodness. Daniel's brother A and his wife K finalized there adoption.   They adopted there adorable little girl back in Jan. but they had to wait for 6 months to finalize before a judge.   It was so exciting to be in this official court room and to see our other brother be the lawyer.    They were so happy and make the most adorable little family.  We got to hold there little girl for the first time since she was a few days old.   She just stared at us and smiled and giggled, super cute special little miracle.

On Sat.   We were able to again meet up with the Hepworth family and see A and K and there daughter get sealed.   I'm so glad I could witness this wonderful event.  A and K are probably the sweetest people in this world and there daughter is so lucky to get to be with them for eternity.  The sealing was just a perfect.  There little girl just smiled and giggled at the temple sealer.  They also blessed her that afternoon while family was all in town.

We had such a great week, we hope you all did too.

Now that I've already gave this as a gift, I'll feature a craft I had made ( with the help of my sister)
I gave it to A and K as a special little gift for this exciting time in there life.

Just Rub Some Dirt On It

Camping can get really dirty,  our shower proved when we got home.

We had the opportunity to go camping this past weekend with my family.  We started our adventure Thurs. night.  I waited patiently (I was kind of excited, slightly bossy because I was ready to get there) for Daniel  to get home from work.   We got all packed up and headed on the road.  We camped up a canyon near Tooele.  It was a very spacious camp ground  with lots of nature to view.  We ate great meals,  we had a few comments that food is just always better when your camping.  I completely agree.  We slept in my brothers trailer with him and his wife.   It was nice not to have to set up a tent and to have a bathroom right there (out door bathrooms not so glamorous).  On Friday the rest of the family came up and it was great to have everyone there.  We went home Sat afternoon to get cleaned up and take a much needed nap.   We had such a good time,  and are glad we got to spend time with family.  Here's some pictures of all our fun.

from a distance the campsite

Typically what the campsite looked like, trying to get as much shade as we could

Trailer on the left is my parents, other trailer is my Brothers (which we slept in)

The boys got bored so built a swing, didn't work so well but it kept them entertained for a few.  Daniel didn't attempt because he said he didn't have anything to prove. Which I totally agree and he was the smart one.  All of them said they may have hurt themselves.
The bunk bed we slept on the first night, then we slept on the floor the other nights

Daniel played this game with my dad and Bro in-law.  I kept on telling him if he scored high I'd reward him with a kiss (I'm sure a camping kiss is just what he wanted haha) I paid up though and he got a smooch or two.

My dad brought some leather work stuff for anyone who wanted to make something

the men got into wood carving, here's Dan and my Dad carving some wood

decided to leave our marks  aaawwww

Goals and Ambitions

Goals:  Daniel finally invested in a soccer goal.  It's about 6 feet high, 12 feet long.   It approximately takes up half of our front room (on the slant). Daniel and all of his brothers went a played on Sat. night.   They enjoyed themselves, and the grand kids even more.

Ambitions:  I was feeling crafty this week so decided to take my scraps of flannel fabric and make a baby quilt.   It's not quite done, but has been fun.

Red, White, Blue and maybe some shoes

We had a very eventful 4th of July, or at least it seemed.   We had planned on just a quiet evening at home with each other and then we just started getting invited to all these things.  We were grateful though, because I'm sure we would have got bored.   We slept in a little, made breakfast, got ready for the day, went to a family reunion, then home for afternoon naps, then to bbq at my sisters house, and then no fireworks for us (we attempted at some sleep).  We had such a great day, I love those holidays and the chance I get to spend the whole day with my love.

Oh and I will document this for my husband,  exciting news........

He finally bought a soccer goal.   He's been commenting about getting one for a long time, so he found a good price and I told him go for it.  We should be expecting it in the next few days and I plan on hiding it or wrapping it up and making him unwrap it  (I'm so mean).  With the goal we got him some goalie gloves with a compromise that I could get some shoes hahah

So me knowing that its BOGO weekend it was a great compromise.

two shoes under 20 bucks is a good deal (he's so good to me)  we both got a little to excited over our finds I think, but it was fun.

Aren't they cute  aaaahhahh  I just love shoes

People of Utah, Frost yourself haha

okay so you'll only get the title if you've seen how to lose a guy in 10 days

I've been frosting a few cakes lately for Hepworth grandchildren's birthday cakes.   My mother in law asked if I'd help her one time and then she asked me some more  after.  I really don't mind, because truth be told If I could frost all day long I would.  I always have wanted to make wedding cakes and do cupcakes for parties.  Its been fun to look up a picture and just try and bring it to life on a cake.  I think the kids have loved it and its just great to see them so happy.
B loves the game Ruzzle so this is his cake, not as detailed as the phone version but ya get the point

M- this is her ladybug cake

E- he loves Manchester United so this is his soccer cake, I don't think I've ever done something this extreme frosting wise.  It was a lot of fun to make and I'm really happy how it turned out.

These I just made for the fun of it,  I was bored and wanted to make a patriotic treat.
