Embracing our inner Brazilian

So we've been out to a couple of Brazilian eating places,  but they can be pretty expensive.   I've been telling myself for awhile that I wanted to cook Brazilian food for the hubster.   So we experimented tonight,  and it turned out pretty good.   We can always work on it and add somemore flavor I think but for experimenting with no real recipe it was great.

Featured above is steamed carrots (not really Brazilian but who doesn't love cooked carrots),
Pao de queijo (cheese bread),  and black beans and rice.

On a side note:  I think I've mentioned how me and Daniel team teach in nursery,  well the last few weeks have been terrible.  The children are sweet I'm sure,  but once they leave their parents and enter our presence its this whole new story.   I understand that a new year and new experience can be challenging for these little kids, but wow its been and is still and adjustment.  We have two problems I think number 1 not enough arms for how many children,  me an Daniel are running from one disaster to the next and not to mention the 10 trips to the bathroom that I had to make with kids so that left him with the rest.   Number 2 people (parents) keep coming in which of course makes more then just there child start bawling.  Well needless to say I've felt like a failure as a teacher.  I told Daniel when we were leaving sometimes I wonder why I was called to do that and why were even there.  He told me that although we fill that way were making it possible for there parents to attend there classes.  Wow I needed to hear that,  I know really it sounds like I'm just a babysitter.  I was grateful to be reassured that I was called for that,  and although we never make a minute into a lesson before three are running in a circle or never are able to get through a book before one has a snotty nose.  I'm there for a reason,  and if nothing else I get to spend those two hours with my love.

On another side note:  I thought it would be great to have them potty trained,  not so much I think I'd rather just take a stinky kid to there parents.   4 trips to the bathroom for just one little girl,  and then to have to steal the plunger away from her.   Yep diapers til there five  hahah totally kidding but seriously

The Craft Bug Has Found Me

I've been in this crafting mood the last month or so.   My goodness it can be addictive and expensive depending on what it is.   I actually dreamt the other night about being in a sculpting class and woke up just really wanting to get my hands on some clay.   So I've been doing a few home projects like pillows and scarf hanger.   Now I'm attempting sewing,   attempting is the key word.  I'm no pro,  heck I don't know how to change the bobbin (or spell it?)  But I'm trying,  so thats all that matters right?  Enjoy some pictures.

Couch pillows for our living room,  found a sheet at target for 6 bucks and made these beauties.  I think pillows are an easy project for beginners.

Saw this idea on Pinterest to put shower curtain loops on a hanger and thread your scarfs through it, I thought it was brillant and its kept my scarves hanging and not on the ground.  It makes for a happy husband.   I'm kind of a clothes slob.  ssshhh don't tell

This is a pinterest skirt pattern I'm working on,  if it fits and turns out cute I'll put a picture up.

This H was a priesthood session project.   I got to spend the evening with my sisters and invited my Mother In-law to come.  My mom was sick,  we definately missed her.  Shes the craftiest and would have had great ideas.  I'm glad my mother in-law could come though.  She didn't have either of her daughters here this conference so I hope she had fun.

Here At The Riot, We went to Real Salt Lake

Okay so for the title to make sense it has to be sung to the tune of Reals soccer chant.  Which isn't allowed in our house at all only at the stadium during a game.  Its a really catchy song and once the hubs starts singing it then I get it stuck in my head all day long.   haha

We went to Real's opening season soccer game against Colorado, we were able to finally use our pass of all passes.  It was fun,  I love soccer and so does Daniel.   I think he had more fun,  I'm not a huge fan of the crowd members and there negative attitudes and use of terrible language.   If  ya want to put the opposing goalie down I don't think calling him a wanker will make him feel down.   Stupid people behind us.   Daniel Loved it though,  he got excited and really into it.
