Memorial Weekend

Daniel and I had a very relaxing and fun weekend.   It was great to have him home and not having to work on Memorial Day.  I just love those days when I literally get to spend the whole day with him.  We started our day off with waking up and having what us Hepworths call missionary breakfast (hasbrowns, eggs, bacon all mixed together and then we eat it on a tortilla),  while eating watching The League of Extraordinary gentlemen (we're Sean Connery fans).  Then we got ready for the day and headed out on adventure.   We stopped at hancok fabric, then Scheels (talk about massive), then we went for lunch at Training Table ( both agreed its went down hill and wasn't very good).  After lunch we wanted to go for a drive, so off to Big Cottonwood Canyon.  It was so nice to get out in nature and view the pretty sight.   On the drive home we couldn't resist 50 cent Slurpee's.  Came home and watched another two movies.   All in all a great day!  I'm grateful for the men and women that have past on and served so that I have freedoms and that we can have great days like our Memorial day was.

Also an amazing recipe I made, I think the best thing I've ever made from pinterest

To Do List Here I Come

Last Friday was my last day as a working girl yippee, here's my text to my husband.

Me:  I'm your little homemaker now
Daniel:  Awww yeah

He's super supportive and just as excited as me.  A few weeks ago we decided that I would stop working and take a break for awhile.   I'm really grateful to be able to do this and for my husband making it possible and suggesting the idea.   So I know its only been three days but I'm trying to stay busy.  I've cleaned the house and have been working on some sewing projects and home décor.
My pinterest craft board is finally going to be accomplished.

What can I say, we like to have fun

You know when you're a kid and you make blanket forts, well you don't just have to be a kid.  I've been wanting to make one for months now and finally begged Daniel to do it with me.  He agreed, little did I know the Hepworths make massive forts.   He wanted to go all out with our queen size mattresses.  Yep it was epic.   We made it in the living room and then watched a movie on his laptop.

Yep it was a fun date night, we watched Emma and snuggled a little of course :)

Whatcha Got Cookin

I thought I'd give a couple recipes I've tried resently

Breakfast for the last like 3 weeks because there so good,  just don't do what I do and eat them for 3 weeks straight or then you will get sick of them.  There great though, and I kind of like to think that the whole wheat in them makes them more healthy.  (who knows though?)

Whole Wheat Muffins
I got the recipe from a cooking blog I follow

2C whole wheat flour
1C brown sugar
1/4 t salt
1t baking soda
1C milk
1 stick of melted butter (I use margarine)
1 egg
1t vanilla

Mix all the dry together, and all the wet in a seperate bowl.  Mix all the ingredients together, until wet.  Pour into a greased muffin tin.   Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 min.

I eat two for breakfast, put them in the microwave for 20 sec then spread a little butter on them.

Next recipe was dinner tonight

Turkey Pesto Guacamole Melt

I bought these asiago buns from Fresh Market as the bread
1 avacado mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoon pesto sauce
turkey lunch meat
provalone cheese

Cut the buns down the middle
spread the avacado pesto mixture on one side
place cheese and turkey on the other side

put on cookie sheet and cook for 8 to 10 minutes at 350  or until cheese is melted

There ya have it some of the Hepworth favorites

Mother Dear

I find myself very lucky to be surrounded by so many mothers,  I want this post to be a tribute to all of them.

First of course is my amazing mother,  I'm so glad that I'm her daughter and that Heavenly Father gave me her.  She is so creative and talented beyond words.   Growing up I always had cute stuff to give as gifts and always had crafted Halloween costumes.   She's an amazing cook and I will always remember her making me cinnamon rolls on the first day of school.  She is a leader,  whether in her callings or just her contagious ability to socialize with others.  She remembers people and wants them to be included.  She taught me how to be a friend,  she would always tell us the importance of being a peacemaker in a group of friends.  She also would remind me of the importance that my siblings would be the best friends I ever had. She has a testimony of Christ which she isn't afraid to tell you about.   Being the only active member from her family she still remains strong in the gospel.  She is always interested in what people are doing, and always concerned when she hasn't heard from her children.  If I could give her one word it would be Compassionate.

Second I was lucky enough to claim a second mom, my mother in-law.  I speak for Daniel too when I say that she is and incredible mom.   I'm amazed at her patience and understanding towards people.  She very smart and its proof when you look at her children.  She is selfless in all she does, one being her genealogy knowledge. I know that I look up to her and will always be indebted to her for giving me a perfect husband.

Third the many sisters I have

My sisters
J-J is not a mother yet,  but she always has possessed the qualities of a mother.  Being the oldest I think you have the ability to take control and be motherly towards younger siblings.  She's smart and is an accomplished teacher.  Her students are lucky ducks because she's so patient and loving.  She will be a wonderful mother some day,  no doubt about that.
M-M is a mother of two and is incredible at it.  She loves her children and its apparent as you watch her with them.  She has this humor that is contagious, she can take a frustrating situation and turn it into a funny story. She is mindful of others and always looking for ways to cheer them up.
J-wow-J is also not a mother yet, but she is so amazing that there's no question that she will be an amazing mother as well.  She is so positive and bubbly that you can't help but be happy when around her.   She's beautiful so her children are going to be little heartbreakers because of there looks.
My sister in-laws
C-C is such a cleaver and creative mom.  I've always been amazed at her ability to handle her children and do it in a way that shows her love but also lets them know she's the boss.  She loves to have fun and its shown by her contest entrees (and always wins) for amusement parks or trips for her family.
P-P has not been a mom for long but she's clearly is a natural.  Her son loves her so much that she spends all her time with him.  She is committed to her family and is always there for others and there questions.  She is smart and is always the reference for someone who has read something or may know the answer.
F-F is always cheerful, she has her hands full but never would need the help.  She knows how to do a lot and is very independent.  I admire the many skills she has in sewing, gardening, and even house repair.  She's very talented an mothering is only one of many.
K-K is so sweet and accepting to others.  The nieces just have nothing bad to say about her, she gives them her full attention and is always there to dance and play.  She is so gifted with her ability to love children and others.
H-H is not a mother yet as I write this but is very pregnant and due any day.  Maybe she'll be a mother on mothers day.  She is very crafty and is always making cute things.  She is always easy to talk to and has this ability to give really great advice.  I know that with that gift she will have a great relationship with her children.
S-S is currently on a mission so clearly not a mother but she amazes me with the mother qualities she has.  She is in some not so pleasant living conditions but has took it upon herself to take care of tasks.  She cleans and makes the place feel like home.  The people of the Philippines are really lucky to have her because she really does bring home where she is.  We miss her at our home but know that she is a great sister and is needed there.

I could definitely go on and on with different mothers in my life because there are a lot.  I had and have wonderful grandmothers, aunts, leaders and teachers that have shaped me into the person I am.  I hope I'm just as good as a mother as all of them are.

Happy Mothers Day!!!
